Somewhere in the planning of our drive from Boston to Florida, the journey home had morphed into an epic pizza chasing adventure, for all the best slices we can fit within the three days and 216 mile span. I recently spent a few days in San Francisco and the surrounding area in California and I was blown away by its beautiful landscape, picture perfect clear blue skies against the sparkling bay dotted by sailboats and framed by the surrounding hills and the stunning famed San Francisco Bridge and Alcatraz Island. I was surprised at how much there was to see and experience in this amazing city and how San Francisco seemed to fall off in recent years as a tourist destination. Savannah, Georgia is a uniquely charming city with something for truly everyone on the trip. A beautiful historic town with giant looming oak trees and perfectly planned public squares, the romantic could get lost toting a book, enjoying reading under the shade and perusing the town’s coffee shops, amazing restaurants and historic landmarks.
