Its no secret that Florida is known for sandy beaches, tall swaying palm trees and exciting theme parks. But in the middle of the state, just north of Orlando, FL is is a gorgeous natural nine mile run downriver you can explore by kayak, canoe or paddle board called Rock Springs Run. Its an incredibly scenic path of tall trees, clear water, lily pads and is bursting with native Florida wildlife.
Florida gets its hype from theme parks, gorgeous beaches, electric cities, but if you dig a little, Central Florida has some hidden gems that most people don’t know about. Florida’s natural springs and river systems are some of the most gorgeous places to see in this state. One of which is Ocala Florida’s Silver Springs and Silver River, in Marion County, Florida. We took the paddle boards out one sunny Saturday to see what this place had to offer and it did not disappoint!
Orlando, Florida, is a travel destination across the globe for the exciting attractions, lovable characters, and thrilling rides, but there is so much more to experience in Florida. If you venture just a few miles north of the amusement park, and just west of downtown Orlando is Clermont, Florida, a quaint town with rolling hills and a rich history of orange groves, farmland, and railroads, this is a beloved part of “true Florida.” If you’re up for a change from the frenzied commotion of International Drive, head a few miles north and see what Florida has to offer from the local’s point of view!
