If you’re passing through the Great Smokey Mountains and you’re looking for something totally different and a bit adventurous, I have the perfect place for you. Foxfire Mountain Adventure Park is just outside the Great Smoky Mountains at 3757 Thomas Ln, Sevierville, Tennessee. We came to Foxfire Mountain Adventure Park for the zip-lining, but there is so much here that comes included with our zip-lining tour, so we made sure to get there early to explore! When we arrived, I was so impressed at how much Foxfire had, and how beautiful it is! The whole family can manage to have fun if not everyone is is quite so “adventurous.” There are beautiful hiking trails with waterfalls, animals, delicious food, a rock wall, and even more. Just a fair warning, you probably won’t have any cell service on the mountain, but there is so much to see, you honestly won’t miss it!
Wylie Cider at Foxfire Mountain Adventure Park
Our first order of business was checking out Wylie Cider. Wylie Cider is a quaint little shop right on the premises of Foxfire Mountain. They have cider tastings and sell amazing hard apple cider. We did a few taste tests and decided on a few to take home for later. You can’t go to Foxfire Mountain without checking this place out and snagging a few bottles! Its so beautifully decorated, I’m not a big drinker but I had a blast browsing and trying some samples. Plus, the story of Wylie Cider is pretty cute, make sure you read up on it before going to get the full sense of enchantment and wonder!
Get Lunch at Foxfire Mountain Adventure Park!
With our adventure ticket, a barbecue lunch was included. I didn’t have high expectations but it truly was delicious. I got the pulled pork sandwich and it was one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I’ve had!

Explore the Trails at Foxfire Mountain Adventure Park!
We continued on to explore the premises. There is corn-hole set up directly under the first zip of the Waterfall Canopy Falls. You can also browse the gift shop or climb the rock wall. There is also a Little Adventurer Obstacle Course that I had to test out to make sure I could “hang” (get it?!) before we moved on to the Goliath Zip-line we were about to do! It was also on the way to see the chickens and Bam Bam, who I absolutely wanted to say hi to! The Foxfire Mountain staff assured us he was a gentle giant, he definitely seemed as such but… giant he was and I was a little intimidated! Look at those horns!
We continued exploring and came across the Whispering Winds Covered Bridge. This bridge showcases thousands of wishes hanging from the ceiling. It was a really cute addition to this park and is beautiful to take photos of! We continued onto Traverse America’s Swinging Bridge to Prosperity, which stretches across Foxfire Gorge. Strung by hundreds of feet of cable, The Bridge of Prosperity is 4 feet wide and over 400 feet long (longer than a football field!). The bridge spans from the base camp at Foxfire Mountain across Dunn’s Gorge to Prosperity Mountain and it really was a magnificent view. If you keep going you’ll continue hiking the Lost Mine Falls. I loved the waterfall, it was so pretty! The property really is just so pretty and picturesque!
Zipline at Foxfire Mountain Adventure Park!
And then it was time to go zip lining! I honestly was so terrified, I had a knot in my stomach all day in anticipation! I can barely make it up my ladder at home without getting quesy, I wasn’t sure how I was going to manage this. But the staff was so friendly and patient with my panicked, chicken self, I was immediately put at ease! I was told the staff inspected the ropes every morning which really assured me. The whole property was so beautifully kept, that I really did feel very safe, despite what my nerves were telling me!
There are two different zip course options, the Waterfall Canopy Tour, which has 7 zips, and the Goliath Zip Tour, which has 4 much longer zips. The longest zip, the Goliath, is 475 Ft above the East Prong of the Little Pigeon river on the half-mile long Goliath zip line at 55 MPH! As nervous as I was about this, I knew if we came all this way, we HAD to do it right and conquer the Goliath!
The whole experience was pretty amazing, we were driven to the top of the mountain to zip down it! The instructor told us exactly what to expect out of each zip-line, the speed, the view we were to expect and which way to make sure to look to take in the gorgeous sight of the Great Smoky Mountains. We were told general safety precautions and what to do ‘if’ you don’t make it all the way across the Goliath zip – which, I didn’t, but don’t worry! The instructors tell you what to do if this happens and they pulled me back in so swiftly and quickly I had no time to panic so don’t let this deter you! This whole experience was so breathtaking and I would do it again in a heartbeat! Look at those views!
We went to Foxfire Mountain specifically to go zip-lining, but they had to much to see so make sure to get there early to explore! I was so impressed and blown away when we arrived, it was so neat, clean, with such attention to detail. The extra thought to add some imagination through folklore and creative names and hanging wishes gave it the unique feeling of a magical, whimsical fairy-tale escape. It was a really beautiful place that made you feel, not only safe doing these extreme tours, but also very welcomed. You can tell right away through the attention to details that Foxfire truly cares about its guests and wants to give them a once in a lifetime experience. I didn’t expect to enjoy this trip so much (‘m really not a major thrill-seeker at heart – clearly!) but it was an amazing day trip that I highly recommend!
